FAVORITES:

SAINT: St. Therese of Lisieux, because her emphasis on grace in all things is a great reminder of our ability to show our love for God in even the smallest of things, and to receive His love for us in all things we encounter.
BOOK: Les Miserables by Victor Hugo
SCRIPTURE: John 21:15-19 (The Rehabilitation of Peter) and Hosea 11:1-4

Matthew grew up and received his Sacraments at St. Bernadette, which he still considers his home parish. His current pastor is Fr. Benedykt Pazdan.

The best advice he received while discerning was to talk to people about it, especially Jesus in prayer. As a seminarian, Matthew would advise anyone who is discerning, “Looking back on your life, ask yourself where patterns of grace emerge; where you find joy; what gifts you have, and where they might be put to use; and what you are drawn to. Speak to someone about all of these things, especially Jesus.”
